Blue Mountain is located in the heart of one of Canada's most stunning natural landscapes and in a region with a vibrant social and cultural scene. From Wasaga beach, the longest freshwater beach in the world, to authentic harbour villages, the Georgian Triangle offers an unforgettable journey through both nature and civilization – a journey that can easily last a lifetime.

Out in the towns around Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain is a great launching point for discovering the charming towns and villages of the Georgian Triangle. Just a short drive away is Collingwood, the region's cultural hub. Take a stroll along Hurontario Street and discover its beautiful Victorian buildings, charming shops, cafés, antique stores, galleries and more. There's plenty to see and do in Collingwood, but make sure to save some time for the quaint and scenic towns of Thornbury and Meaford.

Arts and Culture

The region is unmatched in the variety of cultural experiences on offer. In a single day you can visit museums, galleries and learn about or purchase local arts and crafts. For fans of the stage, every season you can enjoy the great summer programs at Theatre Collingwood and The Georgian Theatre Festival in Meaford. If music is your thing, you'll enjoy the eclectic sounds at the Collingwood Music Festival that runs throughout the months of July and August. Maybe it's not high culture, but the Collingwood Elvis Festival, held in July, is four days of fun that includes a giant street party, classic car parade and a heapin' helpin' of the King's greatest hits.

The great outdoors

All around Blue Mountain, you'll find an awesome variety of recreation and sports activities that will fuel your passion for living and fill your lungs with that fresh Georgian Bay air. The best way to get to know the Georgian Bay area is to hit the trails. A vast network of hiking trails will take you through some of the region's most scenic spots. Come fall, there are plenty of fantastic ways to really experience the foliage, like the 130 foot high Canopy Walk, or gliding through the trees on a Zip Line. A cycling tour is another great way to see the sights. And in any season horse back riding is a way to reconnect with your inner cowboy. And of course there's canoeing and kayaking, rock climbing, and in the winter, snowmobiling, dogsledding, cross-country skiing. Get out there and make the day your own.
